Rob Amaral is a senior home inspector at MKC Associates with over three decades of experience inspecting residential and commercial properties throughout New England. Since 1995, Rob has performed more than 7,000 inspections, bringing unparalleled expertise, sharp attention to detail, and a practical understanding of Massachusetts' diverse housing stock — from historic Colonials to modern new builds.
Rob was among the very first group of inspectors licensed when Massachusetts began regulating the home inspection industry, reflecting his leadership and longevity in the field. He joined MKC Associates in 2017, where he continues to deliver thorough, unbiased evaluations that help clients make informed decisions about their homes and investments.
Rob’s familiarity with the common construction methods, materials, and issues across Greater Boston and beyond is strengthened by his roots in Walpole, MA, and a lifetime of involvement with the region’s evolving building practices. Whether inspecting a historic farmhouse or a newly constructed condominium, Rob’s local expertise and deep knowledge of structural and environmental concerns offer clients a valuable perspective.
Prior to becoming a home inspector, Rob worked as a manager and trainer for a pioneering national radon measurement company based in Virginia, adding environmental health to his skillset.
Outside of inspections, Rob is a lifelong musician. He plays guitar and bass professionally across New England and currently performs with The Fathoms, an eclectic surf band known throughout the Northeast.
Rob’s take on the home inspection profession: “I like being with different people in different places every day and the challenge of helping people out during their building-purchase process. I have a lot of fun at the same time and consider myself fortunate to have succeeded in this profession”.
“This was the 4th home that Rob Amaral has inspected for me and I can’t imagine using anyone else. Based on his reports, I have purchased 3 of the 4 homes he has inspected. Everything he told me about each house has held true…” – Autumn W.
